Fat Albert's Restaurant: Carrying On the Legacy

Our History
Fat Albert’s Restaurant was a cherished, family-owned eatery in Greeley, Colorado, serving homemade American comfort classics and award-winning pies from 1982 until its closure in August 2024. Known for its welcoming, homey atmosphere and signature dishes like the Monte Cristo sandwich and Peanut Butter Supreme Pie, Fat Albert’s became a beloved gathering place for the community. For over four decades, the Alberts family—led by Sue and the late Roger Albert—created a space where friends, families, and neighbors made lasting memories over hearty meals and homemade desserts. Though the original restaurant is now closed, the spirit of Fat Albert’s continues to thrive in Northern Colorado.

The Fat Albert’s Food Truck
The legacy of Fat Albert’s lives on through a new food truck, now operated by John Albert, son of Sue Albert. After growing up in the family business and taking on a larger role following his father’s passing, John has brought the beloved flavors of Fat Albert’s to a new generation. The food truck features classic menu favorites, including the legendary Monte Cristo sandwich, and continues to serve the community at local spots like Crabtree Brewery in Greeley.

John’s dedication ensures that the tradition of homemade comfort food and famous pies remains alive, offering longtime fans and new customers alike a taste of the original restaurant’s warmth and hospitality. With the food truck, the Alberts family’s commitment to quality, community, and memorable meals rolls on—one delicious bite at a time.
